Taking the perfect snapshot of children can be a difficult challenge for anyone. They would rather be playing, they have no investment in how the pictures turn out, and they can be easily distracted. As an Edmonton children’s photographer, I have met my share of rambunctious kids. Little Jax is no different. Especially in this session when the young man was more interested in the squirrels than the camera. Despite his adventuring, we managed to capture some wonderful candid portraits of energetic Jax.
Edmonton Family Photographer
This is was my fifth photo session with Jax, and every year is as much a pleasure as when I first met the newborn in 2014. He has grown into quite a handsome, soon-to-be, 4-year-old boy. It was exciting to get these photos done before he starts his big year of pre-school. Between Jax’s spunk and humour, it is tough to figure out who had more fun this day, him or me.
I could not be more pleased with how these photographs turned out. Jax looks like such an inquisitive explorer as he marvels at the fantastic setting of Whitemud Park. We were more thankful for some of Jax’s natural wacky poses. The pictures perfectly encapsulate the fun, merriment of an awesome little dude. Everything Jax does is picture worthy, and I’m looking forward to seeing him again soon.
As an Edmonton photographer, it is shoots like these that can be the most fun. Jax and his family are a pleasure to work with. Jax’s mother, Kylie, was nice enough to leave us a wonderful Facebook message where she too joked about Jax’s wild distractedness. It’s messages like these that tend to warm our hearts and make our day: “Angela is the best at catching beautiful candid moments that nobody else sees. Angela you’re a 10/10!!!”
Thank you Kylie and Kyle for giving me the opportunity to capture memories for your family. Also a special thank you to Jax, hope to see you soon and good luck in pre-school!
